Rosie Perez was born in the US and is known as an actress and host of a television program, activist for social change dancer, vocalist, choreographer, and writer. Being a foster-child and a ward of the State, she had encountered some of the most trying moments in her life. Since she was the result of an extra-marital relationship, she was never able to receive the affection of either of her parents. Luck struck her at a farewell party when she was approached by the director and producer Spike Lee for a film. Following her acclaim by critics for her performance in 'Do what's right', she continued to appear in other acclaimed films including 'White Men Don't Jump' or Fearless. She gained notoriety as a choreographer in the musical "In Living Color" in which she was nominated three times for the 'Emmy Awards'.
